Jody Rodas is passionate about public libraries, having worked in them since 1993.

I am passionate about public libraries, having worked in them since 1993. Some of her relevant experience includes:

  • Waverley Library Inter Library Loans Officer (1993 – 1999)
  • Chairperson Metropolitan Public Libraries Association (later NSWPLA) Document Delivery Sub-Committee – Developed and Implemented ILL Performance Improvement Guidelines for NSW Public Libraries
  • Inaugural member of National Resource Sharing Group which developed the ILRS code and Inter Library Loan and Document Delivery Benchmarking Study– later incorporated into the IFLA, ILL Best practice guidelines.
  • Manager, Library and Learning Futures – Waverley Council (2015-2022)
  • Project lead – Adaptive reuse of Boot Factory into an Innovation Civic Hall and Waverley Council, Knowledge and Innovation Steering GroupDevelopment of Digitisation Strategy for Local History Archive that contains items of National significance.
  • Manager, Woollahra Libraries (2022 – present)
  • Representative – Public Libraries Consultative Committee (2021 – present), representing medium sized libraries.

I would like to be a member of TSAC because I have been an avid supporter of the Distributed National Collection since I was an ILL Officer in the nineties. I discovered the value of the ABN (now Trove) an archive that is accessed by countless community members and is an integral tool for librarians in providing daily customer service. Public libraries rely on accurate holdings and LADD for resource sharing and a collaborative discussion on retaining members and a LADD replacement is needed so that democratic access to quality information for all community members continues to be provided.
