Trove Content Contributors
Trove welcomes community-based, collecting organisations across Australia to join the Trove Partner community as Content Contributor Partners to make their digital collections and data discoverable in Trove.
Content Contributor is the entry level Trove Partners package. It gives a Partner the ability to contribute digital content and data on the national platform, when they don’t require additional library services offered by Trove. This package is free of annual membership and establishment fees making it accessible to small organisations.
Organisations that might be interested include:
- Community museums, galleries and archives
- Local historical societies
- Community groups with heritage collections
- Public libraries, who do not require specialised library services

Minimum requirements to become a Content Contributor
To become a Trove Content Contributor, you must:
- Be an eligible organisation that holds a collection of cultural heritage materials.
- Have a record of your collection items maintained in a compatible collection management system.
Ideally, your organisation has already catalogued a significant proportion of the collection, has established and maintains a collection management system with online connectivity and has the support of appropriate hardware and trained staff or volunteers.
Trove can import data from a growing list of compatible collection management systems, including those designed for small museums, archives and galleries. Check out the full list of Trove compatible systems, including state based online platforms, Victorian Collections and Collections WA. If your system is not listed, please contact us, as our technical staff may still be able to establish a connection.
We are Trove Ready!
Contact us at Trove Partner Support to discuss how you can become a Trove Partner and access the full range of Content Contributor benefits. To help us to better understand your collection needs, we may seek more information on:
- the nature of your collection (e.g. how many items, type of collection materials, items of state or national significance)
- what online collection management system is being used and how many collection items have been uploaded
- if you’re interested in digitising all or part of your collection.
For more information on the Partner Terms and Conditions view the Trove Collaborative Services Agreement.
