Working with Quartex for the first time
The Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia (RA&HS Archives) were seeking to have their collections more discoverable online and reached out to Trove. They use a UK-based digital asset management system, Quartex, to share their collections online. Being the first Quartex client to become a Trove Partner, the RA&HS Archives needed to work with Trove to determine if Quartex was compatible with Trove's systems.
Once confirmed, other technical details were ironed out. The Trove team needed to ensure the data would display correctly in Trove by completing several normalisation changes to the records.
Within a few months, RA&HS Archives were discoverable on Trove and a weekly harvest was set up to keep the information accurate and up to date.
Check out their amazing contributions.
'Trove Support were in regular contact and made it very simple. I am not an IT specialist, but I did not need to be. ...The whole process was very smooth, with Trove offering friendly support and information to make the process straightforward. I would highly recommend other organisations consider sharing their collections with Trove, as it can help improve the discoverability of your collection. It also helps to strengthen Trove’s place as a central, national repository of historical information – the more Trove and the National Library of Australia are connected to historical collections, both large and small, the stronger we all are as a result and the stronger our connections are to our historical past.' – Erin Reardon, Museum and Archives coordinator, RA&HS Archives.
