Maggie Patton has worked in the library sector for over 40 years, starting as a Reader’s Adviser in council run libraries, then becoming a Reference Librarian at the State Library of New South Wales. Over the past 30 years, she has worked towards improving the accessibility of collections to readers. From managing reader’s service program delivery, to bringing together exhibitions, conferences and rare book schools, working collaboratively with UNESCO Memory of the World and Google Arts & Culture, and expanding discovery through digitisation projects and working with collaborative digital services, Maggie's experience brings her to TSAC with a rich understanding of collection discovery.

Since 2023 Maggie has been the Head of Collection Acquisition and Curation at the State Library of New South Wales where she manages the development of the library’s collection and leads the curatorial team to interpret and profile their collections.

‘Being on the committee will be an opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to provide input into the development of Trove, particularly in evaluating the current range of services including the platform and interface. Through a range of networks within the library sector, as well as bibliographic and cartographic networks and the broader research community I can gather feedback and represent a range of users and stakeholders.’
