Building awareness of our Partner collections available on Trove

Sharing family and local history resources with our Trove community

Trove is the gateway to contributing Trove Partner collections from across Australia providing online access to libraries, museums and galleries. Exploring these collections and discovering something new is one of the wonderful features of Trove. With the broad and diverse range of collection material available, many millions large now, it’s helpful to have a place to start.

One of the benefits of being a Trove Partner is working with Trove to highlight your available collections to our extensive Trove community through content like blog posts and collection features.

Recently, Trove has worked with several Trove Partners on a family and local history series of blog posts focusing on each state of Australia. The series will extend to cover the whole of Australia and to date we have collaborated with our Trove Partners to develop blogs exploring interesting and unique family and local history resources for South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania, though we’re not stopping there. In the months ahead we will continue our series to share resources from the remaining Australian States.

Family historians and genealogists are one of our most active communities on Trove, so it’s no surprise that blogs featuring family and local history resources have been popular.

‘We really appreciate the positive response to our collection and the boost to our profile on Trove. We are always happy to assist as we really value our link with Trove.'

Reaching out to our Trove Partners to discuss their collections is just the first step, and it’s one of the most fascinating. We work closely with our Partners to develop the content and tell the story through the information shared by our Partners. These blogs are an outreach project instigated by Trove and brought to life with our Trove Partners, but it’s not the only way Partner promotional content makes its way onto Trove. Partners can also reach out to Trove to discuss sharing their collection online. Promotional services are part of all Trove Collaborative Services packages so whichever package you are on, if you have something you would like to share with the Trove Community, reach out through Trove Partner Support and we will be in touch.
