15 Years of Trove with our Trove Partners

Thank you to our Trove Partners for their contributions to Trove’s collection

In December we are celebrating 15 years of Trove. As we recognise this milestone, we are acknowledging our Trove Partners, who through their collective contributions have collaborated to build a national collection that is accessible to all Australians and deeply treasured in the community.

In 2024 we have around 900 active Partners collaborating with us to expand access to Australia’s stories in Trove. In 2024 alone, Trove Partners worked with us on digitisation projects that resulted in over 800,000 new pages which are now digitally available on Trove. Trove Partner projects have included digitisation of The Bega District News, Yarrawonga Mercury and Mulwala News and The Seasider. In addition, our digitisation projects have extended to include beautiful theatre playbills from Ballarat Royal Theatre. Our coming soon to Trove page keeps our Trove community up to date with projects underway.

We continue to expand out Trove Partner base, to broaden and deepen the collections available on Trove. We are actively seeking to expand our Partner base to include community-led, volunteer-run and rural and regional collecting organisations across Australia so they can make their significant digital collections and data available and findable in Trove. Our content contributor package allows Partners to contribute their collection onto Trove for free, growing the collection of cultural content that is freely accessible to the public. Partnering with Trove enhances the visibility of Museum and Art Galleries of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) collections, broadening access and promoting the significance of the work we do. It strengthens our mission to preserve and promote the Northern Territory’s rich cultural history while encouraging collaboration within the broader heritage and research community.

We have collaborated with several Trove Partners to highlight their fascinating and varied collections. In 2024 we’ve celebrated the riches of historical menus and sheet music and worked closely with Partners for a feature story on the Beatles visit to Australia in 1964. The November Partner spotlight goes behind the scenes to tell how our Trove Partners brought the Beatles story to life.

Being a Trove Partner allows MAGNT to connect our collections with a wider audience, fostering deeper engagement with the Northern Territory’s cultural heritage. Trove is a crucial platform that helps us share our stories and unique resources with researchers, educators and history enthusiasts across the country and beyond.

Access to the wealth of collections available on Trove has inspired books, research projects, articles and artistic creations and has filled the gaps of countless family histories providing a valuable service to our dedicated Trove community. We look forward to growing and sharing the rich collections on Trove now and into the future.
