Explore Tasmania
Libraries Tasmania, a Principal Partner of Trove, have contributed, funded, and facilitated the digitisation of hundreds of thousands of pages of Tasmanian newspapers – available to everyone, for free, in Trove.
A recent project of theirs has resulted in 15 new titles being added covering 159 years of Tasmanian history.
Digitisation for Libraries' Tasmania
Libraries Tasmania staff member Ian Morrison, Acting Manager, Collection Development who was a integral part of the project said:
Libraries Tasmania aimed to get all Tasmania titles that were out of copyright, the per 1954 period digitised and on Trove. These papers show not only the State history but also shows the great impact Tasmania had on other states as well. We thought of not only their benefit to Tasmania but also to a global audience researching Australia.
