[Herald ]-The gold excitement is great, and the
subject absorbs pubhc attention
Eight new gold companies are being floated to-day
lhe captain of the Meister Windhorst, which left
Natal April the 8th, reports that the new Governor
of this colony, the Hon Anthony Musgrave, had
chartered the barque Burton Stather to convey him
to Adelaide Sir James Fergusson's telegram, how-
ever, gave later intelligence
Wheat firm at 03 6d Flour unchanged and quiet

The exports of breadstuffs for the week ended
yesterday reached 4500 tons, making the year's ex-
portation 100,000 tons
