B GRADE SHARE OF i
TAKINGS !
Request To Senior
Football Body
Pirie B Grade Football Association de
cided at its annual meeting to approach
the senior association with a request
that consideration be given to alloca
tion to the B grade body of a small .per
centage of gate takings of football
matches at Memorial Oval this season.
Messrs. J. G. Geddes and A. Huckwell
were re-elected president-chairman and
secretary-treasurer respectively. Club
delegates welcomed were Messrs. K.
King, S. Millard (Proprietary), C. IPryor
(Solomontown), and W. Hancock (Port).
Messrs. W. Smith (Solomontown) and B.
lines (Port), other newly elected dele
gates, were unable to attend.
A financial statement submitted by Mr.
Huckwell showed that the association's
bank credit balance was slightly larger
than at the beginning of the previous
season.
NO FOURTH TEAM
It was decided that, although the as
sociation was favorably disposed toward
the proposition, a request for inclusion
of a team representing Wandearah dis
trict could not be entertained as parallel
fixtures with the senior association would
be upset. In event of a fourth team en- '
tering the senior round at a later date I
the request would be reconsidered. j
With the object of raising funds for an
annual trip to another centre to further
the interests of the' association and as
sist in improving the standard of play
it was decided to hold a dance in July.
Mr. Geddes reminded delegates that B
grade provided a reservoir of players for
the senior association. Play was expected
to be of high standard in the coming
season, and larger attendances at the
curtain-raiser matches were confidently
expected, providing encouragement to
younger players, he added.
Following a tie between C. Minnis and
M. Hogg for a trophy for the best placed
man last season the association decided
to duplicate the award so that each
player would benefit.
Crystal Brook Ball.—A mad hatters'
ball at Crystal Brook Institute raised
about £30 for local tennis funds. Music
for dancing was provided by Ambassa
dors' Orchestra. Prizewinners were
Messrs. B. Kelly and N. Nicholson,
Misses B. Cameron and Parker, and Mrs.
A. Hurst. Judges were Mesdames E.
McLeod and H. Dunsford and Miss E.
Greig.
