ELECTION TO BOARD.
SYDNEY, Tuesday.-As a Toault of the
last municipal elections Mr. E. E. Oollins,
formerly the representative of country
shires and municipalities on the Board of
Fire Commissioners, ceased to hold office as
an alderman. He therefore vacated his
position on the botird. To-dtiy an electiou
was held to fill the vntcancy.
) The returning' officer has declared Mr.
Jsaau Cullen, of Wa^ga, as duly elected to

ticulars of the votes polled:-Cullen

O^Connor (Invereil), 16; McDicken (Five
Dock), 12; Walker (Narrahri), 12; Johns
(Karri Kurri), 10; Dash (Leuxa), 5;
Spiccr (Pairkes), 4; Strattou (Cootamundra),
4; Slattery (Lifchgow), 2. Informal 7.
Tot-ail 141. Only nine out of 94 rnunicpial and
shire councils concerned neglected to exer
cise their right to vote.
