Noted Salvationist At
Port Augusta
PORT AUGUSTA.— Visiting
Port August for an indefinite
period is Envoy J. Newth, of
the Salvation Army. During
World War II she was in
charge of Red Shield Huts,
which serviced about 4,500
sailors, soldiers and airmen, and
also gave hospitality to more
than 500 British sailors.
For her devotion to the Dutch
soldiers she was given a photo-
graph of Queen Wilhelmina by
the Dutch Consul.
During the past four years
Envoy Newth has toured Aus-
tralia, arriving at Quorn last
March, having travelled 10,000
miles.
