FASCISTS FACE
CORRUPTION
CHARGES
LONDON, Sunday.-Twenty
three prominent Fascists and
industrialists, including Musso
lini's son-in-law, Count Ciano,
and the Fascist Party secre
tary, Scorza, have been charged
with war profiteering and cor
ruption.
This report from a Pritish United
Press correspondent on the Italian fron
tier is supported by a Rome broadcast
stating that the New Italian Minister
for Justice, Azzariti, has. announced
that the commission to try high Fas
cist officials who used their office to
enrich themselves would consist of
judges whose integrity could not be
doubted and whose decisions the coun
try could trust.
This list of 23 accused is reported
to be only the first batch likely to face
the tribunals set up by the Badoglio
Government.
Reouters says that a list of names
of those charged appeared in Italian
newspapers on Friday. It included
directors of the Fiat. Viscosa, Monto
Cattino and Ansaldo con'cerns.
Many corrupt dealings in other Axis
countries are reported to have been rc-.
vealed in Mussolini's private files.
