The Moonta Mines balance-sheet shows
an estimated loss of £12,000 sterling. 1

Adelaide at 4s. ' 2dwts but buyers are indisposed
to advance beyond 4s. 3d, Farmers '
lots are worth 3s. 11d. to 4s, Flour is
steady at £7 12s! to £7 17s 6d. for ordinary;
£8 5s., to £8 10s. for leading brands and
£9 6s. to £9 7s. 6d. for roller. In the im-
port market sales are merely those of the
trade supplying orders. Holders of sugar
are firm, and the Mauritius stock is light.
Mr. Calchott has intimated that he will
visit, the colony next week to report not
only on the Murray River, but on general
irrigation.
The Assembly to-day debated the free list
tariff, but no alterations of any consequence
were made in the list, and the discussion is
nearly finished.
