Great Span Has Narrow Victory

ATTRACT LEADS ALL THE WAY
THE topweight, Hellenist, had a comfortable win in the Governor's
Handicap at the Spring meeting of the Adelaide Racing Club at
Victoria Park on Saturday.
Saturday's meeting normally pre
cedes the Oakbank fixture, but owing
to the destruction of the Derby stand
at Victoria Park, it was postponed into
the following racing season. The course
was in excellent order, and several ex
citing finishes were witnessed. The
weather was fine and cool, out there
was only a fair attendance, and the
totalisator handled £9,038, compared
with £16,784 at the corresponding meet
tog last year. Results: —

Cape Don by half a neck, with three lengths
separating Cape Don and Sir Lectern. Dame
Spasa was a poor fourth, then came The Mule,
