RIFLEMAN is a rich dappled-grey, of great
bone, size, and substance, standing 16| hands
high, got by the imported' horse Superior ; dani,
Mr. George Dunn's grey mate Diamond, by the
imported horse Hertford; granddam,: Peg, by
imported horse Improver ; great-granddam, an
imported V.D.L. Mare. All these Mares have
repeatedly taken first prizes. All the Sires
were imported, and of the first class. .Thus
Bifleman -combines in his veins some of the best
and purest strains of draught blood in South

ficate as the best Colt of his age; air 3 years

prize at Mount Barker, and first prize at Wood
side; at 5 years old, first prize at Clare, 1867,
and first prize at Auburn, 1867; also the
Society's prize as the be3t horse on the ground;
and at Clare the first ' prize in March, 1868 ; at
6-years old, first prize at the Clare Ploughing
Match. He has thus taken 15 first prizes, two
second prizes, and a certificate of merit as the
best two-year-old exhibited. His breeding;
size, substance, ; age, and performances are,
therefore,' all first-class ; and it is believed that
he is the best Horse of his class seen' for many
years in the North, where he has never been
beaten, -though he has met with horses from
nearly every, district. . He has also proved him
self a sure foal-getter. Several of liis get
