Its time to bridge the Narrows
WITH no certainty that the new Causeway will be adequate for the increased
amount of traffic using it by the time it's completed (whenever that will be) ,
surely it's time for the Government to consider again putting a bridge
across the Narrows — and this time doing something about it.
Practically every motorist wishing to get to the eastern areas of South Perth and Como
from the city (and vice versa) would take this greatly shortened route, as would people
from western suburbs like Nedlands, Claremont and so on. The saving of time, petrol,
wear and tear on the Causeway and motorists' frayed tempers would be considerable. —
Progress, South Perth.
