MECHANICS' INSTITUTE AND
RETURNED SOLDIERS' CLUB
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the committee of the
above was held on Monday night. Those
present were: Mr. M. Doohan (presi-
dent) in the chair; Messrs. J. G. Sales,
A. E. Giles, J. B. Martyr, L. Bailey,
F. H. Madden, R. J. L. Eather, and
C. Williams (Hon. secretary).
An apology was received from the
hon. treasurer (Mr. A. E. Hawkins).
FINANCIAL POSITION
In uic absence of the treusuiei, the
secretary read the financial statement,
wmch disclosed a credit balance of £0.
M/ 4 as at January 1. Outstanding
accounts amounting to £13/1/10 were
passed for payment.
. GENERAL
The secretary reported that certain
windows required new locks and cords;
that 'papers and periodicals .v the read
ing room arc again being torn and mu
tilated, and the assistance of
members in detecting offenders so that
?a- prosecution could follow.; and that
f the "president and himself had slightly
1 altered the specifications for alterations
I and additions to the building. On ; tho
'\uiotion of Messrs, Martyr and Sales,
I this action was endorsed.
1933 SHOW WEEK
"It was agreed to let the hall to the
Singleton sub-branch of the R.S.- and
! S.l. League for 1933 show week.
TENDERS
Tue tenders for the' work to pro
vide -"-or a now supper room, kitchen,
etc., were opened, - and on the motion
.of Messrs. Madden and Giles it was
unanimously decided to accept Mr. Mcl
Anderson's tender, and that the work
bo commenced immediately and be com
pleted on or before February 11.
