INVERELL TRAGEDY
BOY SHOT DEAD AT
STATION HOMESTEAD.
A shooting fatality occurred at Trc
?vallyn Station, the property of Mr V.
P. Wiltshire, solicitor, of Invcrell, at
4.30 p.m..on Friday, when Eoy Austin,
ith'o 13-year-old son of Dr. R. B. Aus
? tin, of Annidalc, who was holidaying
; at the station with Mr Wiltshire's .son,"
Vernon, aged 12, was accidentally kill
ed with 'a .22 calibre short .pea-rifle
bullet, which' passed through, his body,

The boys were on the;- homestead
verandah when the tragedy occurred;
but it is not known whether young
Wiltshire" 'accidentally shot his mate,
or whether' Austin-had the'rifle,' as ;tho
boy ' is ' considerably 'distraught, and is
in such a state of hysteria that the
police are unable to take a statement.
'Mr Andrew Stewart, the Warialda
Coroner,. opened an inquiry, on Satur
day night/and adjourned the hearing
