OWENS OUT
Injury to Knee
There 'was general disappointment,
when it became known this afternoon
that 'Staunch' Owens, the Western
Australian follower and half-forward,
would be unable to appear against the
Victorians. Owens injured his knee dur
ing Saturday's contest, the medical diag
nosis being a displaced cartilage.
The withdrawal of Owens was a set
back, as, he was one of the few Western
Australians to distinguish themselves in
Saturday's game. The seelctors chose
Pemberthy as substitute. Pemberthy wa.c
included in the side on Saturday, but
was one of the' four who was considered
not worth a place in the team today.
The bones of a dinosaur, the terrible
