His Record Saves Him
Fact that the man had a good
record moved Magistrate Wall-
work to let 46-year-old Samuel
George Stuber, of Hay Street,
Perth, off with a fine in Perth
Police Court today.
Stuber pleaded guilty to having at
Perth on Wednesday stolen 18 tins
of powdered milk, valued at £1/3/,
property of Boans Ltd. He was fined
£10.
Evidence, given by Detective-Ser-
geant Woodley, revealed that Stuber
had worked at Boans for the past
few years.
About 4 p.m. on Wednesday he was
seen leaving Boans with a parcel
under his arm.
He returned later and was ques-
tioned about the parcel, the detective
said.
Stuber at first said that it was
a box of kindling wood for his
bathheater, but refused to say
where he had left it.
He later admitted that it was 18
tins of powdered milk which he had
taken from the packing room.
Parcel was found in the parcels
depot in Hay Street, Woodley said.
"On account of your previous good
record I am going to let you off with
a fine," the magistrate said.
