Death Of Sportswoman
Mrs.. Eileen May Bourke, of 40
Wehl Street, who died at the
Mount Gambier Hosiptal after
six weeks' illness on March 27,
was keenly interested in cours-
ing and was a member of the
Mount Gambier Coursing Club.
During her early married life
she took a keen interest in
shooting and was a member of
the Tanara Gun Club, where she
won several trophies.
The late Mrs. Bourke was born
at Allendale East on May 10
1898, and was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. James Buckingham. Messrs James
(Tarpeena), John (Crouch
Street, Mount Gambier) and
George (Thornbury, Melbourne)
Buckingham are brothers. Sisters
are Mrs. McKinnon (Katherine),
Black Rock, Victoria: Mrs Mel-
rose (Margaret), Black Rock.
Two sisters (Emily, Mrs. Klieve;
and Winnifred, Mrs, Ball) pre-
deceased her.
Mrs. Bourke was married at
Mount Gambier to Mr. Brian
Bourke. who predeceased her 15
years ago. Children are Yarrian
(Mrs. J. Mason, Shepherdson
Road. Mount Gambier), Ray-
mond (Hawthorn, Melbourne),
Morna (Mrs. W. Woodward,
Weht Street, Mount Gambier).
Cecily (Mrs. M. Bennett, Earl
Street, Mount Gambier), Olma
(Mrs. K. Lamont, Wehl Street,
Mount Gambier).
She leaves six grand-children.
She was a member of the
Roman Catholic Church and Rev.
Dean Redden conducted the
service at the graveside at the
Mount Gambier Cemetery on
March 29. Ern. James carried
out funeral arrangements.
