Australia's High Proportion
Of Radio Listeners
Reviewing six months' operations of
the Australian Broadcasting Com
mission, the chairman (Mr. C. Lloyd
Jones) states that, so far as the Em
pire is concerned, Australia, is second
only to Great Britain in respect of
the proportion of licensed listeners to
population. Australia occupies seventh
place in the countries of the world.
Denmark is firsu with 13.4 listeners to
evrey 100 people. Then come Great
Britain, 10.7; USA., 9.8; Sweden, 9.6;
Austria, 7.1; Holland. 6.9; Australia
and Germany, 6.4. Prom July to De
cember last year the number of Aus
tralian licences increased from 376,759
to 419,180.' ?
