VESSELS LAID ON FOR THIS COLONY AT LONDON.
Catherine Stewart Forbes, Whitby, City of Ade
laide, Buckinghamshire, William Bryan, Thomas
Harrison, D'Auvergne, Planter.
No tidings have yet reached the Colony of the
barque Children.
We hear great complaints made by the emi
grants per Platina, of their treatment during the
voyage. Nine deaths have occurred : among which
were three childien of Mr. and Mrs. Reid -the
whole of their family. We have not yet ascertained
the names of the others.
The Governor's paper in copying our shipping an
nouncements had better do so correctly, and not
publish such stuff for the information of the colonists
as that " the City of Adelaide, for this Colony, is
undergoing extensive repairs." The City of Adelaide
when tbe Bardaster left was not launched, and there
fore could require no repairs. This vessel is building
exclusively for our colonial trade.
