Colonial Secretary's Office, Oct. 1.-His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr Robt. Thomas
to be Inspector of Weights and Measures for the pro-
vince of South Australia, under the provisions of an
Ordinance No. 13, 6th Victoria, intituled "An Act for
establishing Standard Weights and Measures in the pro-
vince of South Australia, and for the prevention of such
as are false and deficient."

Colonial Secretary's Office, Oct. 1.-Tenders will be re-
ceived at the office of the Surveyor General, until noon
of Wednesday the 8th instant, for the supply of one
small twelve or fourteen inch-beam balance, for the use
of the Inspector of Weights and Measures.
Particulars can be learnt at the Survey Office.
Tenders to be in original only, and inscribed outside
'Tender for balance."
