Birth.
On the 17th instant, at the Seaham National School,
Mrs. Richard Barton, of a son.
Married.
At Christ Church, Newcastle, on the 26th November,
by the Rev. C. P. N. Wilton. M. A., Mr. John Han-
derson, to Miss Susannah Mary Dyer, both of New-
castle, and eldest daughter of Mr. William Calvin
Dyer, of Morpeth.
Deaths.
At Tenana Creek, Wide Bay, on the 5th instant,
having been cruelly murdered by the blacks, Mr.
George Furber, for many years a resident of the Hunter
River District, aged 41 years, deeply regretted by a
large circle of friends.
At same time and place, Mr. Joseph Welmshurst,
aged 28 years, who met his death in like manner, and
son-in-law of above, leaving a wife and one child,
with many friends, who deplore his untimely end.
