CRANBROOK v. TENTERDEN
At a match played at Tenterden
on November 30, the Cranbrook
team batted first and put up a very
poor score-all out for 50. How-
ever, Tenterden's batting proved to
be worse; and they just failed to
pass their opponents, with all out
for 47. Only double figures scor-
ed were I. Walters, for Cráhbrook,
18, and 0. Finlay, for Tenterden,
17. Bowling analysis: Tenterden:
G. Wornum, 6 for 21; H. Tuf nell,
2 for 1; L. Manion, 2 for 2; R.
Davis, 0 for 10; T. Archer, 0 for
15. Cranbrook: R. Peacock, 3 for

C.W.A.
Congratulations to Cranbrook's
energetic workers for the C.W.A.;
they have got away their first box
of Food for Britain-a noteworthy
achievement. This box represente
donations from most members of
the branch, who, each week,
through their respective grocers,
donate something to the appeal.
This year ,too, the C.W.A. is of-
fering for competition in the
school, four book prizes. These
are to be awarded for general pro-
ficiency, two in the senior school,
and two in the junior, the judges
to be the teachers. !

CRANBROOK TENNIS CLUB I
On Saturday, November 30, there
was a most enjoyable dance in the
Cranbrook Hall. The Kendenup
Orchestra played for dancing, and
the hall was gay with multi-colour-
ed streamers. To add to the gai-
ety, the dancers wore coloured
paper caps. There wa6 a lucky
number competition in connection
with these, and the cap that bore
the ' lucky number was Mrs.
Walsh's. Another competition
gained prizes for Mrs. Albert Gil-
lam (hamper); Mr. Albert Gillam
(tobacco), and R. Woodhead
(towels). The Ladies' Committee
served a delicious supper. Nett
proceeds from the function amount-1
ed*to approximately £10.
Personal
Mrs. F. E. Hitchins is spending
a short time in Perth.
Mr. Howells, senr., is back after
a month's holiday in Perth.
