CROWN LANDS BROUGHT WITHIN THE
SETTLED DISTRICTS
(Requiring payment of Rent for Approved
Selections under pre-emption).

His Excellency the Governor has directed
it to be notified, for the information of all
parties concerned, that in pursuance of the
22nd clause of the regulations of 29th March,
1848, his Excellency has approved of the
claims which have been made by the parties
enumerated in the annexed list to the pre-
emptive right to leases of the several portions
of land referred to.
2. It is necessary that the rent, namely,
twenty shillings per section of 640 acres, for
the remainder of the pre-ent year, for the
lands in question, be paid into the Colonial
Treasury, at Sydney, within one month from
the present date (April 30), in default of
which the leases of the lands will, in ac-
cordance with the 26th clause of the regula-
tions, be put up to sale by auction.

His Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to appoint the following gentlemen
to be magistrates of the territory and its
dependencies, viz. :-Archibald Campbell, of
Lorn Bank, and Andrew Little, of Bimbe-
nang, Esquires.
grant of land.
The description of the following grant of
land, with the name of the person to whom
it was originally promised, or by whom it is
now claimed, ia published for general infor-
mation, in order that the party concerned
may have an opportunity of correcting any
errors or omissions that may have been made
inadvertently.
It is requested that within one month from
the present date the following particulars
may be accurately furnished to the Colonial
Secretary's Office, viz :-Surname and all
Christian names of the person in whose
favour the deed is to be prepared, written at
full length, his residence, and the intended
name of the property.
If these be duly furnished, and satisfac-
tory, and if no caveat be lodged, or other
cause of uncertainty appear, the deed will be
prepared accordingly, as soon as possible
after the expiration of the stated period of
one month.
If the required particulars be not fur-
nished within that period, or if a caveat be
lodged, or other cause of uncertainty arise»
which cannot be satisfactorily determined hy
the government, the case will be referred to
the Commissioners of Claims, and the party
subjected to the expense of that proceeding.
Northumberland.-5. John Budge, 100
acres, parish unnamed, near the village of
Wollombi, on the Wollombi Brook ; com-
mencing at the eastern extremity of the
northern boundary line of Mackay's 100
acres ; and bounded on the south by part of
that land, being a line bearing west 20 chaina
and 30 links ; on the west by a line bearing
north 46 chains ; on the north by Dale's 100
acres, being a line bearing east 17 chains lo
the Wollombi Brook ; and on the east by
that brook downwnrds to the commencing
point. Order dated 22nd June, 1831. Pro-
mised to John Budge, by Sir Ralph Darling,
on the 22nd June, 1831, as a small grant.
Quit-rent 16s. 8d. per annum, from the 1st
January, 1849.

«Mounted Police at Mudgee, supposed tube
stolen-One black horse, JK near shoulder,
four fetlocks white, white stripe down fore-
head, saddle marks on back under «addie,
six years old ; one bay horse, H.T near
shoulder, black points, saddle marks on back,
under saddle, white star on forehead, six
years old. If not claimed or released on or
previous to the 15th May, they will be sold
to defray expenses. [10s. 3d.
