Galvanised Tinned Iron Tiles.
REDUCTION in PRICE of Morewood and
Rogers' Patent Galvanized Tinned Iron
Tiles.
NOTICE.
THE retail price of the above, at the ware-
house of the undersigned, will be as follows
until further notice :
24 Gauge. 50s. per cwt.
28 Ditto . 50s. ditto.
These tiles on account of their vast superiority
in every respect, are fast superseding all
other descriptions of roofing.
They are stronger, cheaper, and more durable
than either slates or shingles.
. A square of 28 gauge would weigh 98 lbs.,
and a square of slates would weigh 8 to 10 cwt.
. There is also a great saving in the construction
of the roof for tiles. The rafters may be
3 feet 7 inches apart from centre to centre, and
the battens 2 feet 8 inches apart ; thus, in a
building 25 x 20 a saving is effected of 150 feet
of rafters, and 1100 feet of battens.
They are prepared ready for use, and can he
laid out with ease by any ordinary workman ; if
required they may be laid over old shingles, thus
saving the expense of stripping the roof.
Each tile under this patent has six transverse
grooves stamped across to strengthen it.

Verandahs.
CORRUGATED Galvanised Tinned Sheet
IRON (Morewood and Rogers' Patent),
in straight and curved sheets, assorted from 5
feet to 8 feet in length by 2 feet wide. From
the great strength of the metal when in this
shape, a verandah made of corrugated galvanised
iron requires no rafters or under ceiling of
any kind, but only wall and front plates. The
sheets are fastened together by nuts and screws
This kind of verandah has a particularly light
and ornamental appearance, especially with the
curved shape, and is very durable.

Galvanized Tinned Iron Tiles for
Roofing-.
Morewood and Rogers' Patent.
rsiHESE Tiles are three feet long by two feet
JL wide, and are laid as slates on rafters and
battens.
They are prepared ready for use, and are
particularly adapted for the country districts,
as they can be had with great facility by any
ordinary workman.
A roof of this metal is very durable, strong,
and fire-proof, and at the same time very
light.
It weighs only from 90 lbs. to 130 lbs. per
square, while a square of slate weighs from 8
to 18 cwt.
This lightness effects a great saving to the
timber and general fabric of a building, and
makes a roof of this metal the most economical
that can be erected.
The rafters for carrying the lines may be 3
feet 6 inches apart from centre to centre, and
the battens 2 feet 8 inches apart.
in a building, say 25 x 20, a saving in
timber is thus effected in the roof alone of
about 180 feet of rafters and upwards of HOD
feet of battens.
These tiles may, if required, be laid over old
shingles, thus saving the expense and risk of
stripping the roof.
Each tile made under this patent has six transverse
grooves stamped across it to strengthen
and stiffen it.

Piambie Zinc.
THIS METAL consists of distinct layers of
< lead and zinc, perfectly united in the
process of manufacture; one side of each sheet
being pure lead, and the other pure zinc ; it
therefore combines the stiffness of zinc with the
durable qualities of lead.
The lead side of the sheet being laid outwards,
effectually protects the zinc below from
those atmospheric influences which so rapidly
cause its decay ; whilst the zinc so stiffens and
supports the lead, as to make a sheet of this
material equal in strength to one of lead of
several times its thickness of weight.
In the point of economy, the Plumber Z'nc
not requiring to be more than one-fourth as
thick as sheet lead, is much cheaper than that
material.
It is used for hips and ridges, flashings, gutter
pipes, cisterns, &c., -c.
For covering terraces, flats, floors, steps,
"S airs, passages, as, it is well suited, being like
lead to the tread, whilst the zinc on the under
side of the sheet prevents it from treading out
of shape. The sheets are 32 inches wide, as-
sorted lengths.

Terms at sale. i
Mr. Coghlan, in calling public attention to
this, the most important sale of land yet held
in Tamworth, deems it superfluous to name the
advantages accruing to the capitalist or settler,
in availing himself of so favourable all opportunity,
which the respected proprietor (alive
to the wants of the community) now places at
their hands.
The probable event of Tamworth becoming
an assize town from its central position, rapid
growth, and it being now publicly known that
the Crown Lands Paddock is not to be open
will render an investment in such property the
best speculation one can enter into
Tamworth, June 18, 1855. 3590
