FIGHT FOR LEADERSHIP.
Sydney, Wednesday.
After all the efforts to remove Mr,
Laug from the leadership of thc Staic
Labor Party, aud incidentally from tho
! Premiership, he still retains thc posi
tion, while Mr. Loughlin has been re
elected to the position of Deputy Lea
der and Minister for Lands. The Lough
linites, however, scored a decisive vic
tory in thc appointment of chairman,
Mr. Hugh Connell, one of the mcmbeis
for Newcastle, deposing Mr. Mark Gos
ling, one of the members for St. Georg..',
and a prominent supporter of Mr.
Lang.
