League of Wheelman
Decisions
LAUNCESTON. Thursday. - The
committee of tho League of Tasma-
nian Wheelmen to-night received ad-
vice from the Launceston City Coun-
cil that before giving consideration
to the construction of a new cycling
track around York Park footba'l oval
the council would like to know what
amount the League would be pre-
pared to guarantee In the event of
the council deciding to carry out tho
work.
The committee decided to commu-
nicate with cycling and athletic
clubs on the N.W. Coast regarding
payments made to councils.
The following racing dates were
granted: Exeter Cycling Club, July
19, August 9 and 30. New Norfolk
Club. July 12, 26, August 9, 23. Ram-
blers' Club, July 26, August 161
Launceston Cycling Club, July 12,
August 2, 23. Circular Head Club,
July 12. Latrobe Bicycle Race Club
(riding section), July 12, 26. south-
ern Tasmanian Club, July 19, 26. Bur-
nie Cycling Club, July 12.
Open races were applied for, and
the S.T.C.C. was granted permission
to conduct the Tasmanian Test Race
Launceston to Hobart on September
27 subject to an alteration of dates
through the race clashing with ama-
teur test races lisiew ror tho sama
date.
Mr. S. J. Klnnane, ns organiser, was
granted permission for the Klnnane
"65" Launceston to Devonport road
race on August 10, the race to be
conducted by the Ramblers' and Dev-
onport Cycling Clubs subject to com-
pliance with conditions.
Mr. Klnnane was alsq granted per-
mission to conduct the Tasmanian
Junior Championship on August' 20.
It was decided to call applications
for the position of deputy referee,
and Mr. J. Edwards was appointed to
the position until a permanent of-
ficer was elected.
It was decided to present guern-
seys and blue ribbons, if procurable,
to tho rider registering fastest time
In the Launccston-Hobart Test Race
nnd to tho rider registering fastest
time In the Tasmanian Junior Cham-
pionship. It was agreed to secure
200 copies of the A.P.C.C. ccnstltu
