His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint the under-mentioned gentlemen to be magistrates
of the territory and its dependencies, viz. :
James Byrnes and George Oakes, Esquires, both of
Parramatta.
INSPECTORS OF DISTILLERIES.
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint the under-mentioned Provincial Inspectors of
Police to be Inspectors of Distilleries, via John
McLerie, Esq.; David Charles Frederick Scott, Esq.;
D'Arcy Wentworth, Esq.; Patrick Plunkett, Esq. Ed-
ward Denny Bay, Esq. and Hey word Atkins, Esq.
INSPECTORS OF DISTILLERIES.
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint the under-mentioned persons to be Inspectors
of Distilleries, viz-Mr. Robert Dpi siege Trimble,
chief constable lit Maranoa; and Mr. Charles George
Willey, chief constable at Wellingrove.
In consequence of the indisposition of William Henry
Kerr, Esq, his Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to appoint Samuel Frederick Milford, Esq.,
temporarily to discharge the duties of the Chief Commissioner
for Insolvent Estates.

At Mooki, on the 13th January, from Dunj, for trespass,

like MC near ribs, 8 off shoulder, like MC off rump;
one Walk and white cow, MCS over ooF off ribs, C off
shoulder, illegible brand off rump; one red sided bull
lock white back, ear marked, XX near rump, WT off
rump; one yellow and white heifer, 10 under co near
shoulder; one strawberry bullock, slit in near ear, HVR
off rump and ribs; one strawberry bullock, O over O
or JC near ribs; one red bullock, cocked horns, 40 off
rump, TI near rump; one brindle and white bullock,
like M off rump; one yellow steer, top off both cars, no
brand visible; one brown steer, like T off shoulder; one
brindle and white poley bullock, IF off shoulder; one
strawberry steer, like O over C near ribs; one white
bullock,, like W over 2, or WK. over 2 near rump. If
not released they will be sold on the 12th February.

At Murrurundi, on the 11th January, from Walla
had One brown bullock, RR over 225 off shoulder, A
before a bell brand near rump; one brown sided heifer,
like B over W off ribs; one strawberry heifer, JH con-
joined off ribs and rump one red cow, top off near ear,
It over W off ribs, HY sideways off thigh; one red bull
calf, unbranded; one black and white poley steer, unbranded;
one white bullock, JM off rump ; one red
heifer, unbranded; one red and white steer, unbranded;
one brindle steer, M near rump and forehead; one dark
iron grey mare, W near shoulder, like A over, blotched
brand near ribs, about 15 hands high; one roan filly,
small blaze, near shoulder; about 2 years old; one
bay mare, white face, TE. conjoined, with H near
shoulder; one bay filly, four white fetlocks, white face
TF conjoined, with H near shoulder; one bay colt, star
in forehead, off hind fetlock white, TF conjoined, with
H off shoulder; one brown filly, if branded not visible ;
one chesnut yearling filly, unbranded. If not released
will be sold on the 14th February. [He. 9d.
At Gresford pound, on the 10th January, from Norwood
estate, for trespass One bay horse, black points,
off hind foot white, very much saddle marked, branded
apparently on near shoulder G over T, over G. From.
Bellgrave, on the 13th January, by T. Chad--One bay
mare, black points, switch tail, dent in near side of
neck, off fore hoof split, branded near side under saddle
162, on the near shoulder apparently HE conjoined. If
the above are not owned they vi ill be sold on the 12th
February. [10s. 9d.
At Dungog, on the 18th January, from Merri Creek,
by Mr. Patrick Stephen One dark bay entire colt, no
brand, star in forehead; near hind foot white, rising 3
years old, damages 5s If not released and expenses
paid before the 10th February, he will be sold. [9s.
At Tamworth, on the 10th January, from run of
A. A. Company, damages 3d. per head One yellow and
white bullock, J H offrit s 8 rump; one yellow steer,
HS under W off rump and thigh, white belly and
rump; one strawberry heifer, yellow head and neck,
V W off shoulder; one red and white steer, T off ribs;
one strawberry steer, unbranded, two years old; one
yellow sided cow, like T off ribs, TP near ribs; one
strawberry heifer, unbranded, eighteen months old;
one yellow sided heifer, like brand near ribs illegible;
one black bull, unbranded, three years old; one brindle
ball, unbranded, two years old; one red poley heifer,,
RW near rump; one brindle steer, TS off rump and
ribs, 3 near ribs. On the 13th January One black
mare, long tail, JHS, the JH conjoined, near side
saddle, P under IC near shoulder, a brown filly foal by
her side, unbranded; one bay mare, long tail, XX near
side saddle; one bay colt, hind feet white, near fore
white, unbranded, three years old; one brown filly
white spot near ribs, near hind fetlock white, SHf
under PT near shoulder; one diesnutentirecolt, star
forehead, hind fetlock white, unbranded, two years
old; one brown mare, long tail, 3 under on near
shoulder, Soo over. If not released will be sold in
twenty-four days. [15g. fed.
At Carroll, on the 2nd of Januorr-r-Ono bay filly
short switch tail, like JSg-near-shoulder. Abo, from.
Keepit, on the 10th January, damages 3d. per head
One yellow and brindle cow, OFF with PA under near
ribs, Vii conjoined, like 3 in circle, off ribs, WN near
rump; one red and white heifer calf, unbranded; one
black ox, ME off rump; one white steer, JF off rump,,
notch near ear; one black and white cow, two notches,
near ear, like FM near rump; one strawberry cow, DH
off rump, illegible brand under; one yellow cow, P off
ribs; one red and white bull calf, unbranded; one white
; cow, top off near ear, the- near rump; one red steer, off
ear slit, 18 rump and shoulder; one red steer, DB off
thigh; one black ox, TJ with J over off ribs, O off
cheek; one yellow cow, TOSH near ribs; one strawberry
bull calf, unbranded; one yellow ox, IH H near rump.
Also, from Carroll, the 13th January One white ox,
yellow spots, piece off near ear, y under PD near
shoulder; one red bull, white face, SI off rump, O off
ribs; one red cow, WB with indescribable brand wee
near- neck; one red- and white calf by her side, unbranded;
one red and white cow, TB-nrarrump, indescribable
brand near ribs one spotted heifer calf, un-
branded. If not released will be sold in two at four
days after this insertion. [16s. 8d.
At, Merton, from Martindale on the 20th January
Orte brow a gelding;, no white, about; four years old,
branded JM off shoulder, JF, thunder, near shoulder,,
damages 2s. 6d. If not released will be sold on the
