An Ulverstone Howl of Rage.
To tho Editor.
Sir,-"Even a worm will turn" un
der eomo circumstances, lt would np
pear, however, that tho putienco and
long-suffering of tho citizens of Ulver
stone far exceed that of this humble
and dull-witted denizen of tho earth.
When tho oncc-bcautiful recreation
ground-possibly tho most beautiful
for position and natural advantages of
any ground upon tho Coast-is ruined
for all except a few players and cycl
ists; when all tho standing spneo for
thoso who cannot pay to go on the
grandstand is filched from thom, surely
a cry should go up J But when, in
addition to tho loss of tho playground
for children on the recreation reserve
being taken from them, thc poor kid
dies aro systematically robbed of their
picnic ground near tho beach, and al
most every ono of the beautiful shade
trees is hacked and cut back so that
for at least three years thcro will bo
no sitado and no decent picnic ground;
when tho poor seem to loso everything
and n pampered few seem to get tho
world, then surely it is timo that a
howl of raco resounded through the
Yours etc.,
