sent for several weeks un holiday.
Mr. W. H. Crane left on Wednes
day for Hobart, having received Hie
sud nows of the death of a relative.
Mrs. .1. Lovings, of Waratah, ÍM the
guest of tho Kev. and Mrs. .1. C. New
ton, at the Methodist Pnrsouage,
Dixon street.
Mr. If. Deegan, Lake Margaret, left
on Wednesday for the untinhind.
Mrs. J. Morley and her sister, Mrs.
Speight, left on" Monday for Lemana
Junction, having received an urgent call
tu their home, owing 1o the illness of
their father.
Mr. .1. Davidson, who has been ab
sent for several weeks staying with his
people at Spreyton, returned on Thurs
day. His friends will be glad to know
he is slowly improving after a nervous
breakdown.
Miss A. Hurd, of thc Launceston High
School, is sponding her holidays at
Queenstown. She is staying at tho Em
pire Hotel.
Mr. W. Lawson, Mf Ñamara street,
who has been in hospital for abouti
14 weeks, has returned to his home.
His f riends arc pleased to seo him about
.igain, and ranking recovery iiftor, his
serious illness, which necessitated an
operation.
Miss B. Miller left on AVcdnesduy
for Hobart, and will bc absent for sov
eral weeks on holiday.
Miss J. Paice, South Queenstown, re
turned homo on Tuesday evening, after
a long holiday in tho South.
Miss Stella Scott, of Burnie, is vis
iting Mr. and Mrs. V. Poohs, Bowes
street,
Mrs. P. O'Dwyer, of Strahan, is an
inmute of the Queenstown Hospital. Her
friends wish her a speedy recovery.
Mr. A. Howe, Railway Reserve, was
called to Melbourne pu Wednesday, hav
ing received tho sud news of thc loss
of his motlier.
Mr. and Mrs. White, who were jnur
ried quietly on Tuesday morning, loft
later in thc day for thc N.AV. Coast,
where they will spend a few weeks.
Mr. T. D. Warner, clerk . of works
on the Hobart -Queenstown road, 'is
spending u few days in our town as
the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. AVar
ner, Esplanade.
