With 16 points each the. Burnie and
Emu Bay Clubs commenced a play-off
match at Burnio on Saturday to de
cide the premiership honors. Players
wore black bands on their arms out of
respect to the late Mr. E. K. Jack
son; a former playing member of the

of. the Burnie captain (Ml-. H. Ray
mond). In 'the latter's absence .?£.
Tracey skippered Burnie, and winning
the toss scut tin; Emus to bat. Brown
and A. W. Tattersall scored 53 for the
openiiiK partnership, the latter then
retiring ''caught and howled' for 30.
Glover 18 and Westbrook 14 not out
helped Brown to keep things going,
but tlio inuings totalled only 139.
Brown's innings of 51 was a good one.
Morton had 28 .scored off his howling
before, he secured a wicket, but wound
up with 4 for 29. H. Gale 2 for 11
and Tracey 3 for GO were also success
ful. Playing to time Burnie lust 2
