'NIGHTIE NIGHT.'
Irresistible Farce.
Two women —Martha M. Stanley and
Adelaide Mat.the«s-iave collaborated to
create one of Ifiic most amusing farces
imaginable in ?'Nightie Sight.'1 produced
at the Theatre liova! for the first tane
this evening to a large audience, which
became almost hyStcrica' ?with laughter
ov-or the mirthful situations and dialogue
which make up tiie proicgue and three
aete of the pliy. Oi coura?, one d5-es
not expect any abstruaa ps--ichokigical
prcjhJem in a. pfay bearaig such a name as
'Xightie Night'' — the same incidentally
has very iit-tle, if annrshing, to do with
the irflot— 5-ut when one goes to the
theatre -to have a good laugh this if tbe
play to ?choose. The audience ia 'in the
know' aX the time, but the ?characters
in the farce umble from one almost com
promising situation into smother with
amazing rapiditr until at tihe final cur
tain the whole thin? works out as an aibeo
hriely inr!i--?ent explanation. To J. C.
Williamson's Company, headed by Mt.
Joseph Coj-b*. nothing but pra»c can be
given for the manner in which they
(Teatfti the thouauid laughs in the play.
