MURRAY LICENSING COURT.
LAST YEAR'S BUSINESS.
MURRAY BRIDGE, February 3.
Inspector Davey, of the Licensing Court, sub
mitted the following annual report at the'
«ittiafr of the Court at Murray Bridge on
Tuesday: — In the Murray licensing district there
are 19 publican's, 21 billiards room, 4 railway
refreshment room, 1 club, and 1 storekeeper's
Australian wine licences. In consequence of un
favourable reports by the inspectors and mem
bers of the public, the Licensing Court, vrith the
Chief Inspector, in presence of the owner, on
July 17. 1924. inspected the Commercial Hotel
at Lameroo, and found the premises in each
bad condition that they should be demolished
and rebuilt. Plans of a new building have
been approved, to include- 28 , bedrooms, and to
be completed by August 21 next, at a cost of
£7.000 to £S,000. Five new bedrooms bav»
been erected at the Karoonda Hotel, Karoonda.
At the Loxtcn Hotel, Loxton, a new dining
room (20 x 30 ft.) has be«n erected, and an
office has been converted into a saloon bar. An
additional story his been added to the Meningie
Hotel, Meningie, comprising H bedrooms and
sitting room. The new additions at the Mur
ray Bridge Hotel axe completed, and the who!e
vrell fcrnvhed in modem style. The Tailem
Bend Hotel is to be enlarged by the construc
tion of 10 additional bedrooms, and two sit
tin? room.1. The billiard yalocn at Pinnaroo
dfstroyed by fire has been rebuilt. Two ad
ditional bar-room' licences were granted for the
hotels at Murray Bridge. An application for
a new billiard table licence at Lock 2. River
Murray, was granted, and a similar application
for premises to be erected in Main street, Mur
ray Bridze, was withdrawn. An application
to remove a billiard licence, from Rcnmarlc to
Lock 5, River Murray, was granted. There
were three applications for the cancellation of
ttmperanre permits. Two were withdrawn,
and in the other case no order was made.
