i The volunteer rilfle corps have gone through their annual
course of musketry during the week, under the Instruction ot
Sergeant Bennett. The attendance of the members and their
firing has been very good.
The School of .Arts, Milton, ls to be built so close to the
road that it will leave very little convenience for the public,
and not have so good an appearance when finished as if set
futher back from the public road.
A municipality for our little town of Milton has been spoken
been spoken of for some time, but the parties who should take the lead in
such matters keep very quiet, and the result is dangerous to
all who travel here after night.
The buildng-trades are brisk here at present. "With regard
to the Narrawalley bridge (mentioned in my last), a surveyor
has been down and marked out the site. Tenders will be
called for immediately. Two Schools of Art, a Congrega-
tional church, and several other buildings are in progress,
Sunday shooting is very common in some parts of the district
and, to strangers, Sunday would almost seem like a holiday.
