Great Hall of the Australian Museum, which has [
boen placod at the disposal of the Commissioners,
is now ready for tho reception of articles intended I
for the SYDNEY EXHIBITION of the Contribu- !
tlons to the PARIS UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION
of 1855.
Tho Sydney Exhibition will bo open to the
publio on the 1st of November, and subsequent
days during that month ; and the Jurors will
issue their list of objects and collections deserving
of either 1st or 2nd class prize medals aa early as
possible.
Articles f r exhibition will be received till the
15th October, but a short extension of time will
be allowed ÍH oases of proved necessity. Wool of |
the ensuing clip, such ns cannot be ready for the
Sydney Exhibition, will be received up to tho
20th January, and then Bent on to Paris by
stoamer without being exhibited here. As, how-
ever, the time now available for arrangement and
classification is so short, intending exhibitors are
nrgontly requested to transmit at once their con-
tributions to the Museum, Hyde Park, addreesed
to the Paris Exhibition Commissioners of New
South Wales, where they will ho taken charge of
and receipts {riven in exohango. Small articles
may bo left, if moio convenient, at tho Com-
mittee ito ms, 30, Hunter-street. Carriage to
Sydney will, if required, bo defrayed by the
Seoretnry.
Tho Commissioners have great pleasure in
acknowledging the liberality of the Proprietors I
of the WolTonuong steamers, and of the Directors
of tho Australasian Steam Navigation Compnny,
who have communicated their intention of con-
veying freiglit free all contributions intended for
the Exhibition.
The Secretary will giro every information in
his power to intending contributors, and, in
addition ts lists of desirable pvoiluots generally,
will supply t - applicants a list of some of tho I
articles for which Medals of 1st and 2nd class are
( ilVred. The Commissioners mo of oourso unable
to enuméralo all tho objects for which ^cilalB
will he given ; but arraiiicmonls have been made |
wlii.-h preolude tho belief that nny deserving con-
tribution «hall fuil to obtain duo recognition and
distinction.
Tho Commisioners would express their beliof
that every district, almost eveiy station, con tal is
products worthy of oxhiMtlon, and they hope that
no ono will bo deterred from contributing, merely
on the ground that they hare nothing rare or
important, but rather that they will at once
communicate with tito Secretary f ir information
as to what is desired.
The following are extracts from the "Regula-
tions '' published by the Imperial Commissioners
of tito Paris Exhibition of 1855.
