ADVERTISING ARTS
ANNUAL BALL AT THE
EMBASSY
There were over 1000 people at the
Advertising Arts Ball held at the Em-
bassy last Friday. The decorations in
the ballroom struck a distinctly futur-
istic note and the dining room was
hung with festoons of streamers.
Charles Sheridan and bis augmented
twelve-piece band discoursed peppy
music from an attractive setting on the
stage, keeping the feet dancing
till well into the morning. Supper was
served in the garage downstairs. Many
novelties were introduced to add to the
gaiety of the evening and there were
free" samples ' from ' the " störe, " the "Ad
Venturer," a piquant little publication
as well as a host of prizes drawn dur-
ing the dance.
A feature of the function was the
specialty ballets which, in keeping
with the spirit of the ball, represented
various products. The ballets, which
were most effective, were produced by
Ernest Lashbrooke. The committee re-
sponsible for a joyous night were
Messrs. Baron Solomon (organiser). A.
Clementson (president of the Adver-
tising Institute), W. Jones (treasurer),
Don Tozer (secretary), E. Harvey, M.
