The function organised by Donny-
brook sub-branch of the R.S.L.
brought over 50 diggers to the local
Memorial Hall last week-end, when
Mr. J. W. Harding presided, and ex-
tended a welcome to representatives
from R.S.L. heaquarters. Mr. Norman
Ryder (president) and secretary, Ar-
thur Murray, from Bunbury, were
there; also Mr. Frank Turton (presi
dent) and Mr. J. Lavery (secretary) of
Kirup sub-branch. Mr. J. Egan, the
chairman of the road board, was given
an enthusiastic welcome in apprecia-
tion of his services to diggers, and for
permitting the R.S.L. and its Women's
Auxiliary the use of portion of the lo-
cal hall at a peppercorn rental of 1/
per year. The sub-branch secretary
(Mr. F. C. Dallow), who served with
the 8th Worcestershire Regiment, in
making an appeal to all diggers and
Tommies, gave a very fine description
of the ideals of the R.S.L. and its won-
derful work on behalf of all men, irre-
spective of whether they were in. it or
out of it.
