'iâtmis's MATCHES
SECOND LEAGUE.'1
A Section.
Gallafora v. " Hadfields.-The final
game In the above competition was
played at Guildford. The fact of
Guildford having already earned the
right to contestrtlie^championBhip-, of
Division IL with Mundijong robbed
the match of a good deal of import-
ance. Hadfields had the tetter of the
first half, and Botwood scored a neat
goal for them-rbéfore the interval. The
home team buring this period were
weak in front of goal. On resuming,
though, they made no mistake in this
connection, and within flyie."-minutes
Lamb had obtained an equaliser. The
«ame player obtained another soon
after. Following a spell of attacking
by Hadfields, Guildford took the play
to thp other end hy a nice combined
movement, and Clarke put the: finish-
ing touch from close range.- /It was all
Guildford now, and' before, the end
Lamb' completed" .bis "hat trick."

A FRIENDLY GAME.
Referees' ' ?' Association ,. ' v. League
Delegates.-This game drew a fair
number of followers tb the Esplanade.

and the players were - more often, on
the ground than on their, feet. The
Referees . were the first to 'score, feob
Hancock was adjudged- to have
brought Pepworth down in the penalty
area, and Major gave Cutmore no
chance with his «pot-kick. The Lea-
gue were soon on level terms. Fol-
lowing a combined movement. Yule
scored with a good shot. Ten minutes
later Hinton gave the League the lead
with a lovely drive. Just before half-
time tho Referees equalised; Varley
got down on the left; and Wallace
fired a shot at goal from his -centre.
Cutmore failed to hold the ball, fend
Pepworth touched it through.
The second half was of a very even
character. Both goals were visited in
turn, and until 16 minutes from'the
end, when Smart got away twice in
quick succession and made sȣo ' mis-
take on both occasions.. Hinton" -then
got another from close jn.'; 'TWB.' same
