BRITISH RED CROSS SOCIETY
How Best to Help
In accordance with a resolution
passed at the first executive meeting
of the West Australian branch of the
British Red Cross Society, recently
formed at a meeting convened by Lady
Barron at Government House, Perth,
printed instructions for the success-
ful carrying out of the work of the
Australian Red Cross Society, as per
copies enclosed, are now being dis-
tributed for the guidance of mayors,
mayoresses, chairmen of roads boards,
and other responsible persons through-
out the State, for it is felt that not one
single man, woman, or child would
wish to be excluded from participating
to some extent in this great humane
work. Workers are reminded that the
Red Cross Society has to find articles
for the relief of the sick and wounded
by tens of thousands, nurses by the
thousand, and attend to and relieve
hundreds of thousands of men—the
Allies as well as our own wounded and
sick. Every penny and every article
sent is of value, provided the printed
instructions are faithfully adhered to.
Centres are reminded that money as
well as articles of clothing will be
needed. Those that cannot provide
clothing can instead, if they wish, send
money. No sum too small. Any-
thing that can be spared will help to
mount up the general fund. In fact,
20s. will purchase nearly twice as
much in England as can be procured
in Australia for that sum, so money
is preferred to articles. Copies of the
printed instructions may be had on,
application to the hon. secretary,
Frances A. Wells, W. A. branch British
Red Cross Society, M'Neil's Chambers
Barrack-street, Perth.
