WOOL STOREMEN'S WAGES.
At a meeting of the Storemen and Packers'
Union on Tuesday evening the secretary (Mr.
L. C. Hunkin) made a report in connection with
the recent conference in Melbourne in reference
to the dispute in the wool, skin, hide, and grain
stores in the several States. The offer made by
the employers of a minimum wage.' of Cpl '
per week in the wool stores was unanimously
rejected on the ground that it was inadequate, and
the secretary was instructed to write to the
general secretary (Mr. J.- F. Pemberton),
asking him to communicate with the employers and
insist on the ' immediate recognition of the
Federal log, fixing the minimum rate at 20 per
week, and also asking that steps be taken to
hold a compulsory conference. j
