THE WOOL SALES.
LAST OF THE YEAR.
PRICES WEAK.
The last: of tne;local:trool sales this year
took- place at the Wool Exchange, Grenfell
street, on Monday morning, when a small
catalogue of between 4,000 and 5,000 bales
was offered. A niimber of the foreign buy
ers were absent ? but represented, how- 1
ever, by their agents. Competition was by
no means keen, and it soon became evident
that buyera had lower limits upon which
to operate. A large, proportion of wool
wae withdrawn, bids in many instances not '
reaching nearer than from id. to Jd. of
the price put upon the lots by' owners. Me
rinos fell id. per lb., and crosbreds id. '
