course, named the horses, and both have
been entered.
The recent race meeting at Mount Gambier

to run a bye.
The Caulfield trainer, C. Wilson, has
lost by death the two-year-old filly by

better race on the softer track at Moonee
Valley -on Saturday than in b i Kyneton
Cup, in which he ran a poor race. In
the Valley Handicap Phlactery and Ju'.

Shorne. Once in the straight the favorite
Meerut came through, and holding Fidelio,
who was badly placed in the early stages.
scored cleverly by a length.
It is believed that both the Wanganui
Jockey and Trotting clubs were swindled
extensively by means of faked totalizator

recent meetings. It is understood the
amount involved altogether will run into
£500 or fflOO.

he ran at 7 to 1. One backer secured 100
