Retiring
.InR. L. C. PITFIELD, who has
been in the Lands Titles Of
fice for 29 years, the last five of
which he has been Recorder of
Titles,. was given a. farewell at
Hobart yesterday when he began
long service leave prior to re.,
tirement:

-Mr. Pitfield on. his conscientious
service.
Mr. Pitfield was admitted to
*the bar in September. 1907; and
served with the Air Force dur.,
ing the First World War. Hoe
joined the staff of the Solicitor-,
General's Department in July,
1920, and in April, 1921, was ap
pointed solicitor in the Lands
Titles Department. Mr. Pitfield
remained in that office until he
was appointed Recorder of Titles
in January,. 1945.
