Britannic is chosen to win the Doncaster Handicap
at the T.RC. meeting at Elwick to-morrow.
Runner-up to High Flight in the
Newmarket and conqueror of Nepal
in the M1iller Handicap, Britannic
ihus the necessary form and reads
attractively with 8.2. 'Nepal and
Heden may be Britannic's most
dangerous rivals. .

Dorando (Tocknell) and Tyran
ny (Fitzgerald) were seen to .ad
vantage at Elwick yesterday,
when they sprinted together over
4 in 511; first 2 in 24k, and final
2 in 27.
f)orando carried the more weight
and hid the outside, but looked to
be doing best at the finish. With
two such fit horses to represent
him, trainer Bob Campbell holds
a strong hand in the Breeders'
Plate.
War Maid (Rumpf) was seen at
her best over 3 in 38. Yarrakin
(Fitzgerald) was not ridden out for
3 in 39. Joytala (Tocknell) ran 2
in 27. Fig Leaf ,Fox1 had an
eary 3 in 4Ut.
Heden (G. Fitzgerald) finished
with a pleasing half-mile in 51;.
Youth Speaks (Wood) was lame
as he canme on to the traclk, but
he strode out more freely when
warmed up.
Fair ]'illipa (Fox) looked to have
plc?tty in reserve at the end of 3
in 40. Trawool (Fitzgerald) work
ed freely cver 6 in 1.20, first 3 in
38 andfinal 3 in 42. Great View (S.
Ball) used the cinders for an easy
3 in 42. Dallas (Fox) was easing
dcown at the end of 4 in 53k.
Mount Pat's Four
Persuade (Tocknell) was field
down to 1.22 for six furlongs.
Mount Pat (T. McCauley) was
nicely in hand over 4 in 55, first
2 in 27.
Sagc and Herbar worked well
together over 3 in 381. Tar
combe (Gatty) I 3ased with 2 in
27.
Pennycourt (Fitzgerald) was do.
ing well at the end of 3 in 39.
Redear (Hunt) went 2 in 28. Town
Crier (Finger) sprinted 2 in 26 in
tine style.
Burnie (Fitzgerald) put 5 behind
in 1.9, first 3 in 39. Aunt Ann
went 2 in 271.
Double Gully (R. Fox), looking
greatly improved, worked slowly.
Outstan Jumps Well
Abalard (S. Haag) snaped satis
factorily over four hurdles without
working up much pace. Winkle
(L. Wood) dashed over two hurdie'
at racing pace before sprinting 3
in 40. Outstan (L. Wood) gave a
great display of clean, fast jump
ing over several hurdles.
Two schooling hurdles were
erected in the straight on the
course proper.
Corredor (McCauley), Hrarbour
ing (Wood) and Balcrest (Gatty)
were sent a mile and a half, jump
ing the two hurdles in the straight
twice. Balcrest and Harbouring
raced away from Corredor at the
outset and although they tired and
jumped poorly at the finish, they
finished many lengths in front of
Corrcdor.. "
