Chemical Test for
Drunks
In Soviet Russia, at some police sta
tions, persons suspected of drulnkenness
are given a scientific test. Their con
dition is examined by an "alcohol
meter." This instrument consists main
ly of a glass tube filled with a colour
less liquid, into which the suspected
person is required to breathe. If he is
sober the liquid will turn pale red; if
drunk,. it becomes a cloudy grey.
