The St. Patrick's River and 'yrtle
'Bask Board of Agriculture at a recent
meeting resolved to hhold a home milking
competition in the Public IHall, and the
commiitee resolved to do the testing
themselves with the Babcock belonging
to the board. The explamnation of bhe
method of calculating the results made
by 'Tloughshare" some months ago was
of great assistance, and as 'the 'testing
progressed ~the results were written on
the blackboard. The ladies mustered in
considerable number, and freely criticised
the dhances of the several competitors
as Sthe anubers went up. Three or four
hours w~ae wthus Spent in a novel com
bination of busines cand amOusement. 'At
the conclusion the workers were agree
ably surprised 'to ind tea and cake hand
ed round, and some thought the innorv
tion would not Ie unwelcome at other
boanrd neetings. Cows belonging to
iafers. Dean, Ilarrison, and Claude
'FPulkner stood in the order named', but
several others were cloe? up.
