SECOND DISTRIBUTION.
Local Authorities Benefit.
An appropriation of £24.000 from
the Metropolitan Traffic Trust Ac
count as a second distribution for
1945-46 was approved of yesterday
by the Minister for Works (Mr.
Hawke).
Mr. Hawke explained that the
gross receipts to January 10 this
year, including the balance of
£30,588/0/4 brought forward from
the previous year, amounted
to £147,637/10/2. The disburse
ments and outstandlng .lia
bilities to that date aggregated
£120.770/3/10. made up as follows:
Refunds, £1.074/4/6; Police com
mission on collections, £14,859/10/7;
amount appropriated under the
Main Roads Act (22j per cent. of
net collections). £29.236/8/9:
amount appropriated under Sec
tion 13 of the Trafic Act for main
tenance. interest and sinkin fund.
£15.500; distribution to local auth
orities. £60,000: administration
charges, £100. This left available in
the fund £26,867/6/4, of which
£24,000 would be immediately avail
able to the local authorities con
cerned.
The payments to be made were:
